    Brits happy with online purchases

We're less likely to return items bought online than those bought from the high street.

Brits are happy with what they buy online, according to a new survey from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).

The research showed 60 per cent of shoppers are less likely to send back their online buys than their high street finds.

That difference is despite online shoppers having a seven day "cooling-off" period, during which they can send anything back.

However, surfing shoppers may not actually be happy with what they buy, but unaware they're allowed to send purchases back. The survey suggested more than three quarters (77 per cent) of Brits weren't aware of such a rule, or that there was any difference in consumer rights between the high street and online sites.

Consumer Minister Kevin Brennan said in a statement: "We are now Europe’s biggest online shoppers, so it’s important we all know that most online goods can be returned with no questions asked within seven days. We want confident consumers who can assert their rights and get a good deal."
