BT boosts broadband speeds at 150 exchanges
By Jennifer Scott,
BT has confirmed its next phase of beefing up Britain's broadband rollout, with another 150 exchanges added.
Upgrades to the exchanges across the UK will initially give speeds of up to 24Mbps, and BT will also lay new infrastructure to help with the move towards faster broadband to homes and businesses in the future.
Back in June 2008, BT announced that it would be investing £1.5 billion into a UK fibre network, claiming it would be available to 10 million people by 2012.
This ADSL 2+ product may not reach the dizzy speed heights of its fibre but BT is still expecting 16.8 million customers to benefit by the middle of this year from much improved speeds than previous copper.
Its competitors are also investing in speedy broadband technology, with Virgin Media currently trialling speeds of up to 200Mbps fibre in Kent.

It may well have
BT may well have "announced the next batch of exchanges" but you've not linked to the list :-)

Apologies for that! We have now added a link at the end of the story listing all 150 of the new exchanges.
Hope this helps.

Costs
I've only got a small business and we've been working with Managed Comms who have affordable prices. I really have to wonder how much BT are going increase its costs and how that would affect small businesses around the country.
