    Toshiba Tecra M11 review

Rating: 5

A laptop that combines superb application performance from Intel's Core i7 range with consistently excellent build quality. It's decent elsewhere, too, with a fine screen and solid ergonomics.

It's only overshadowed by rival machines, which manage to pack in discrete graphics chips and more versatility for similar amounts of cash.

keyboard touch?

Does the M11 have the same keyboard type as the Satellite? ie the flat-style, light-touch keys? I can't work it out from your review! I tried out loads of different keyboards before buying my last laptop, and this is by far the best if you're a fast touch-typist. If they've changed it, I might go for one of your cheaper suggestions (I'm holding out for the one that's due to come out shortly - fingers crossed...).

RE:

I would assume, that is uses the same keyboard as the rest of the Tecra range. I don't know the Satellite range, so I can't comment, but have found the A10 and A11 keyboards to be fine, with plenty of travel, but a little noisy.

We currently use the A11s, having replaced the A10 range.

I have to say, for general office use, I can't fault the Tecras and I haven't had any performance problems with the Intel HD integrated graphics either - Aero desktop doesn't stress it, neither does HD video playback, I don't need anything else from it, in a work environment.

For graphic production, it might be a bit limited, not having an equivalent of CUDA for accelerating PhotoShop processes...
