Vodafone targets SMBs with Business Essentials tariffs

Vodafone is targeting small businesses and the self-employed the launch of a flexible price plan.

Vodafone's Business Essentials offering provides businesses with the ability to run up to four mobile phones on one customised contract.

All deals within the new plan come with 3,000 minutes to UK landlines. Extras include unlimited texts, unlimited Vodafone-to-Vodafone calls and the ability to have 0800, 0845 and 0870 calls taken from inclusive minutes.

The extras are priced at £5 for one, £7.50 for two or £10 for three. Those who sign up to a 24-month plan before the end of August will receive the unlimited text option for free.

On any price plan up to £30 a month, customers will be able to enjoy 500MB of data, while £35 a month or more contracts come with 1GB.

A Vodafone spokesperson told IT PRO that while the company is “certainly looking at fitting the needs of small businesses” with the new tariff, the communications giant is looking to cater for all kinds of firms. “Businesses of all sizes are important to us,” she added.

Vodafone has been ramping up its business offerings in 2010. In May, the Vodafone Business Choice price plan was introduced, offering shared minutes and the ability to personalise the contract.

Earlier this year, Vodafone launched a store aimed at small businesses rather than consumers, located in London’s Cheapside.
