    O2 unveils mid-contract iPhone 4 deals

O2 has confirmed how to get the latest iPhone even if you are mid-contract.

iPhone 4

O2 has unveiled details of how its customers can get their mitts on an iPhone 4, even if they are mid-contract.

The company is offering an early upgrade for customers currently on an O2 contract. This means, for a one off payment, you can upgrade to the latest version of the flagship Apple smartphone.

There is a widget on O2’s website to work out the amount but essentially it is equal to £20 for each month left on your contract.

If you don’t know when your contract renewal date is, as of tomorrow you can text DATE to 21302 to find out.

The downsides are that you will not have a “change of mind period” as you normally do with new phones, allowing you to send it back in the first couple of weeks if you don’t like it, and you will also have to sign up for a full 18 or 24 month contract again.

If the deal appeals then you better be quick. It will only run for the first month after the iPhone 4’s release – between 24 June and 24 July.

Customers already on O2 and eligible for an upgrade can just go through the usual process online or in-store after the phone has launched.

The iPhone 4 will also be available through Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile but details of tariffs and release dates have yet to be unveiled.
