Apple’s iPhone OS 4.0 firmware update was probably the most anticipated update to the smartphone platform and it’s easy to see why.

Previously, the iPhone was not a smartphone is the true sense of the word. Without multitasking and full Exchange services, the iPhone was a hugely advanced feature phone, but OS 4.0 has changed this.

Previously, iPhone firmware upgrades were mostly about bug fixing, adding only small, consumer-focused improvements such as copy and paste, improved Spotlight search, email search and MMS messaging.

Now the new OS has added a whole load of business-centric features to the mix.
