How to get the most out of iPhone OS 4.0

.
Should you upgrade
The iPhone OS 4.0 is a fantastic upgrade option for the iPhone 3GS and anyone who owns a 3GS must upgrade to this update.
From the firmware’s email management features, multitasking, folder management and security tweaks, it adds everything we’ve eagerly been awaiting on the iPhone, even if the multitasking takes a pretty simplistic approach.
The iPhone 3GS can manage these operations more than successfully, although it’s a shame to see that apps are still suffering from developers not updating them for the latest OS.
However, if you’re thinking about upgrading on your iPhone 3G, we wouldn’t recommend it.
After testing an iPhone 3G with iPhone OS 4.0 installed, it’s clear that the processor cannot deal with the update's power-hungry aspects, even though multitasking isn’t an option.
If you have an iPhone 3G, now might be the time to upgrade to the iPhone 4, or even the iPhone 3GS now it has seen a substantial price cut.
The iPhone has always been a popular device for business users and iPhone OS 4.0 builds upon this to further improve the phone and make it a high-end smartphone rather than a bridge between a smartphone and feature phone.
Multitasking feels like the final piece to a stunning puzzle and the ability to add multiple Exchange email accounts makes this phone a perfect solution for managers and those who may hold access to a company’s generic email in addition to personal work email, while also saving time with the introduction of a unified inbox feature.
Steve Jobs, you’ve done us proud once again.

The Touchscreen edition of the popular e-reader is heavier and pricier than the original, and is only worth a purchase if audio or 3G is a priority.
