Folder management
Another feature that the Apple smartphone platform was missing when compared to rival platforms such as Android was folder management, but this has again been rectified with the arrival of iPhone OS 4.0.
Although you can only group applications into folders rather than files, widgets and apps, it’s still handy to group apps together and save vital home screen space for other applications.
You can fit 12 apps into any one folder too, saving a substantial amount of physical space.
To create a new folder, press and hold an application icon on the home screen. Now, move one icon onto another similar app icon.
The device will create a folder, auto naming it according to what genre the contents fit into.
You can change the name of the folder by tapping on the name field and a keyboard will pop up.
You can either delete apps in the folder by pressing and holding them until the red cross appears in the corner and tapping delete, or just by dragging and dropping the app icons back onto the home screen.
