3 scraps unlimited data and unveils One plan
By Maggie Holland,
Mobile operator 3 has become the latest network provider to enter the unlimited data debate and make big changes as a result.
However, the changes could actually be good news for users, and see them get more data for their money rather than less.
The company today unveiled something called the One Plan. This will give users 1GB, in addition to 2,000 any network minutes, 5,000 same network minutes and 5,000 texts - all from £25 a month. Users can also buy additional data, on a per MB basis.
“For individual consumers this plan is about peace of mind. For the industry it's a game changer," said 3 UK's chief executive Kevin Russell.
“The One Plan is for everyone that wants to get the most from their smartphone and yet keep within their monthly allowance. We’ve fought for changes to the rules to make this kind of deal possible. With change in the air we believe it's time to act and to bring to the market the benefits of the larger bundles of calls, texts and data we have promised to UK consumers."
