Head to Head: Google Nexus One vs Nokia N900

By Clare Hopping,
Business features and security
The Google Nexus One is by far the more superior device when it comes to business features, especially with the upgrade to 2.2.
The firmware update will significantly improve security functions, thanks to its improved Exchange support.
Exchange administrators have much more control over devices running Android 2.2, including the ability enforce passwords across companies and remotely wipe devices if a device is lost or stolen.
Maemo and MeeGo, when it becomes available, isn’t so hot on security or Exchange support.
Because both platforms are based upon Linux, they support SyncML rather than ActiveSync. This means you can’t access multiple Exchange accounts and integration with Exchange is more limited.
Although security features haven’t yet been officially revealed for MeeGo, it’s likely that devices such as the N900 will rely on third party security solutions rather than having native remote locking and administrator requirements.
Winner: Google Nexus One
