    Will all communications be unified in the future?

Many companies are getting on board with Unified Communications, but Jennifer Scott investigates whether this model is the way all business communications are set to go.

As for incorporating the likes of email, fax and IM? The brains behind UC will have to ensure a level of usability and simplicity if this is to take off. The companies using these technologies will not be technologists themselves and the most successful UC products will be easy to use for both chief executive and receptionist alike.

We are sure to se the continued penetration of simple voice and data UC into most businesses, but with the definition changing and more elements being added, it will be a long time until every company has all their communications unified.
