Nokia N8 release confirmed for 1 October
By Jennifer Scott,
The Nokia N8 is set to launch in the UK on 1 October, the mobile manufacturer confirmed today.
Dedicated Nokia fans can get hold of the device even sooner if they buy it from the company’s online shop for £429 SIM free. This will be an option from the last week of September, with pre-order available now.
Otherwise customers can get the handset on contract from £35 per month from Carphone Warehouse, O2, Orange, Phones4u, T-Mobile, Tesco, 3, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone from the beginning of next month.
The N8 will be Nokia’s first handset with the new Symbian^3 mobile operating system. The company hopes the phone will help it regain control over the mobile space as market share has continued to slide in favour of the likes of Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android devices.
