Dell is upping its game in the tablet market with a new device featuring a concealed keyboard.

The Dell Inspiron Duo was revealed during a keynote at this year's IDF conference in San Francisco and had the crowd gasping as it morphed from tablet to netbook.

The tablet had a 10 inch screen and appeared as any other flat tablet device. However, a keyboard then slid out from underneath and the screen twisted round into the casing, turning the tablet into a sleek, yet sturdy looking, netbook.

“Here is a sneak peak at the world most powerful 10 inch tablet,” said Dave Zavelson, a precision marketing manager at Dell. “It is great for providing the productivity you need to have [for business] but allows you to kick back and relax too.”

Inside, the tablet runs on an Intel dual core Atom processor and is powered by Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system.

No more details of components or pricing were revealed but Zavelson did confirm the tablet would be shipping by the end of this year.
