3 revamps iPad pricing
By Jennifer Scott,
3 has today revealed new deals for customers wanting to get hold of an iPad.
Apple’s flagship tablet device will now be available from the mobile provider for as little as £199, but customers need to stump up for a two year £25 per month contract to get the discounted price.
This means, overall, a customer would end up paying £799 for the 16GB version, instead of the £529 it costs to buy the device up front from Apple’s online store.
For the same contract price, 3 is also offering the 32GB version for £249 and the 64GB for £349. This includes a 15GB data allowance.
For those who want to opt for pay as you go contracts, customers have the choice of one month rolling contracts at £7.50 a month for 1GB or £15 for 10GB, or 1GB for 30 days at £10 and 3GB for 30 days at £20.
The new pricing structure is similar to Orange’s, which announced its new tariffs earlier this week. However, Orange is charging £27 for new customers and £25 for existing users rather than the flat £25 on offer from 3.
