ASUS to launch application store at CeBIT
By Jennifer Scott,
ASUS is set to launch its very own application store at one of the biggest tech shows of the year to complement its new range of tablets.
A marketing specialist from the computer manufacturer, who spoke to IT PRO at this week’s BETT show in London, revealed the store would launch at CeBIT this coming March.
“Work is in progress,” he said “and we expect it to be [publicly] available in April or May.”
The company launched a number of tablets at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas last week. Today saw the devices' UK premier at BETT and IT PRO got a good look at the Android-based slates.
The employee we spoke to admitted they were mainly for consumers but claimed the market was not mature enough yet to see how they would play in the enterprise space.
“This year is about the user interface and making it intuitive for the user,” he added. “Once we have achieved this, we will see how different people want to use the devices.”
Take a look at our hands-on first look videos of the new slates and decide for yourself whether they are fit for business.
