3 offers first HSPA+ dongle
By Jennifer Scott,
3 will launch the UK’s first HSPA+ dongle next week, with a number of payment options.
The company confirmed the release of the Huawei E367 for Thursday 7 April, claiming it would boost connection speeds by up to 40 per cent.
The dongle will cost £69.99 for a 1GB pay-as-you-go (PAYG) option. Customers can also get a 5GB allowance by spending £49.99 up front and then £15.99 per month.

To get the dongle for free, the monthly charge is £18.03 on a 24 month contract, but this does come with a 15GB per month allowance.
Users who already own a 3 dongle will be able to upgrade it to the Huawei E367 for a one off payment of £59.99.
David Kerrigan, head of mobile broadband at 3, claimed its network was “built for mobile internet” and this dongle was the best way to experience it.
3 began offering unlimited data plans on its pay as you go mobile handsets at the start of March, after a number of providers began imposing limits.
They claimed unlimited data meant the network was clogging up and not delivering on performance. However, 3 disagreed and updated its “One Plan” to remove all caps.
