HP unveils Sandy Bridge business laptops
By Tom Brewster,
HP has unveiled a number of new laptops including the business-focused Sandy Bridge-based ProBook m-series and EliteBook p-series models.
The HP ProBook 5330m comes with a brushed aluminium chassis, a backlit keyboard and is less than one-inch thick, weighing 3.9 pounds.
It also features Intel Core i5 and i3 dual-core processors, based on the Sandy Bridge architecture, alongside an HP Fingerprint Sensor for improved security.
The HP EliteBook 2560p and 2760p models come with either Intel Core i7 or i5 dual-core processors, as well as full-size 7,200 RPM hard disk drives and solid-state drives (SSDs).
The 2760p comes with tablet functionality, allowing employees to use a pen or finger to interact with the screen.
Elsewhere, the manufacturer announced the HP Mini 210, weighing under three pounds and measuring less than one inch thin, whilst providing up to 9.5 hours of battery life.
All the laptops are due to be made available in June, with the ProBook 5330m starting at £499 excluding VAT, the EliteBook 2560p at £699 and the EliteBook 2760p at £1,199.
Businesses will also soon be able to take advantage of the new HP 2560p Docking Station, although pricing and availability is still to be confirmed.
The docking station comes with four USB ports and eSATA, DisplayPort and VGA ports “for added connectivity to peripherals and compatibility with an array of video devices,” HP said.
