Byte Night 2011: IT PRO sleeps rough for charity!
By IT PRO staff,
The IT industry might face challenges everyday, from reducing complexity in the data centre to squeezing every last drop out of stretched budgets. Whatever trials we face at work though, we all have a home and warm bed to go home to.
Not everyone is so lucky. Last year, 75,000 children were sleeping rough on the streets of the UK, facing a much bleaker existence than many of us could begin to imagine.
Our industry can help though. Every year, IT workers from across Britain come out in force to raise money for the leading homeless children’s charity, Action for Children, to help fund projects and ultimately help these kids get off of the streets.
Byte Night sees participants gather in London, Cambridge, Thames Valley and Edinburgh and spend the night sleeping on the streets, getting a glimpse of what these young people face everyday.
This is where you can help though. IT PRO is teaming up with our sister titles Know Your Mobile and Cloud Pro to enter a team for the sleep out on Friday 7 October and try to raise as much cash as possible.
Please sponsor us and give as much as you can to this great cause.

Thanks in advance for your generosity and we wish the best of luck to all the sleepers at Byte Night 2011!
