One learns by making mistakes.
What's the biggest challenge of being a modern-day CIO?
Meeting the challenges of combining making long-term and short term decisions in a changing and competitive environments where customer and business expectations are growing in terms of volume, response time, quality and availability with tighter budget constraints.
And the most rewarding thing?
Same as above.
What is the biggest mistake you think you’ve made? And your greatest success?
I don’t remember. [There are] so many of them. One learns by making mistakes.
How big a role will cloud computing play in your organisation in the next three years? What other technologies are you watching?
In the scope of things for our internal markets it will not be really significant. The technologies being watched include low latency messaging and computing.
What are the most important criterion you use to make decisions that impact your business and why?
