Nokia Lumia vs. Galaxy Nexus clash coming mid-November
By Tom Brewster,
The Nokia Lumia 800 will launch on 16 November, just a day before the Google Android-powered Samsung Galaxy Nexus, according to reports.
The Nokia device will cost £399 for pay-as-you-go customers, mobile provider 3 revealed. The Galaxy Nexus, which comes with a 4.65in high-definition super AMOLED display and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, is expected to cost around £550.
It means the Lumia 800 will cost £100 less than a bottom of the line iPhone 4S, whilst the Galaxy Nexus will be £50 more.
Nokia will be hoping to regain some lost ground in the smartphone space.
Orange has already opened up registration for the Nokia phone, but not revealed pricing plans, whilst Vodafone has confirmed it will stock the device.
The Lumia was unveiled by Nokia in London last month, with many onlookers saying it was make or break time for the mobile manufacturer.
The Lumia 800 comes with an eight-megapixel camera, an 800x480 pixel 3.7in AMOLED screen and 16GB of on-board, non-expandable storage, amongst other features.
The Lumia 710 – the cheaper version of Nokia’s Windows Phone 7 device - will not be available until the first half of 2012.
Nokia is hoping to regain some lost ground in the smartphone space, which has seen Apple and Samsung establish a solid lead over rivals. Samsung was named the number one smartphone shipper last month, overtaking the iPhone maker, with Nokia in third.

Looks like a toy
Does not have the "Serious" features for business use.
Is "Facebook/Twitter integration" a feature these days? All platforms do that.
At least Nokia is finally using Auto Focus again and not the EDOF lenses that are useless at close range.
The TV adverts do not even show the device being used, worrying...
With disastrously poor sales of WM7 how long will there developer support?

@Equalizer
Looks like a toy? why because its blue? You can get it in black also and i think people are bored of every phone looking a carbon copy of the last (HTC). Also you clearly have not used a windows phone otherwise you would know that the facebook/twitter/linkedin integration is a feature when implemented the way it is on wp7 ie not some rubbish app with a widgit but fully built into the os in a seamless way. Also not all adverts should show a phone in use its about creating a brand image if you want to see it in use nokia are putting demo phones in every store so you can have a play. PS its windows phone not windows mobile so showing your poor knowledge on the subject shows how you negative comment is not relavent in any way. The one thing i will agree with though is WP7 does need to look at business use more ie VPN but past VPN though it has the best native email and office suit with seamless integration with sharepoint and office 365 plus its one of the most secure phones. But then i guess they are going for the mass market first.
