GoGrid has announced the opening of its new European datacentre, hoping debut day offers will entice new business.

The facility in Amsterdam will be the US company’s first base in Europe and act as its headquarters for customers across the region.

The actual results have exceeded our initial business case. The dollars and manpower saved have been huge.

The deal will allow new customers to gain free access to GoGrid’s Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offerings until the end of February or until they reach an imposed £128 cap.

GoGrid has already confirmed two high profile customers in Europe, with publishing firm Conde Nast and telecoms specialists Orange Business Services getting on-board.

Conde Nast will be using a hybrid model to run its content management system in order to keep customer data safe, whilst allowing for huge spikes in traffic when high profile articles are made live on its websites.

Orange Business Services, however, will take a private hosted cloud in the Amsterdam datacentre to run its Service Management’s Customised Infrastructure Care (CIC) solution - which monitors its own CRM, telephony and network management products.

"We've saved money in bringing this to market, both in terms of development costs and hardware,” said Lee Cardona, global solutions director at Orange Business Services.

“The actual results have exceeded our initial business case. The dollars and manpower saved have been huge."

Those interested in testing out the service can sign up for the free trial by visiting the GoGrid website and putting in the promotion code AMScloudpro.
