The IT Pro report: Security in 2012

News 1 May, 2012

Are you secure enough? Take a look at the second IT Pro report, sponsored by UKFast, to gain strategic and practical advice on how to tackle growing threats.

Security remains at the top of any IT manager’s or CIO’s agenda. Yet despite this prominence, the level and ferocity of threats continues to grow.

It seems no matter how much emphasis we place on, or budget we dedicate to, security, the bad guys up the stakes by a factor of 100 per cent or more. It’s a losing battle, some might say.

Without quality data, our businesses can die. But, even with the right data, if it’s protected in the wrong way we may as well give up.

Information is the lifeblood of any business. Without quality data, our businesses can die. But, even with the right data, if it’s protected in the wrong way we may as well give up.

IT Pro's second quarterly report is not about preaching to the converted. We know you value your company’s biggest asset. We know you know security is important. But, in a sea of ever-growing threats and guidance, we hope this report serves as a digest of the business reality and how you can best arm yourself against those who wish your organisation technological harm.

With threats increasing on a daily basis, how is the modern-day business expected to even keep up with, let alone get one step ahead of, what bad things may be on the horizon?

With expert insight and opinion, we hope to answer those questions. IT Pro contributing editor Stephen Pritchard looks at what the IT manager needs to focus on, while CIO Connect editor Mark Samuels looks at CIO-related issues.
