Software giant's chief marketing officer reveals how well the company's latest operating system is faring in the market.
Software giant Microsoft has reportedly sold 40 million Windows 8 licenses since the launch of its new operating system last month.
Microsoft’s chief marketing and financial officer for Windows, Tami Reller, hailed the success of Windows 8 during a presentation at the Credit Suisse Annual Tech Conference earlier today.
According to a report on Reuters, about Windows 8’s lack of Start Menu and its mixed tablet/desktop interface.
Although it is worth noting that the licenses sold to PC manufacturers will also be included in that 40 million.
Reller’s comments follow on from a disclosure by Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer, earlier this month where he claimed 4 million Windows 8 upgrades had been sold during its first few days on sale.
