My inability to value / quantify / remember / predict emotions - happiness in particullar could explain why I enjoy getting paid for stuff quite so much. I am aware that I like to be paid for doing stuff more than I would expect as I am not that(!) materialistic. In the past I put it down to being valued - people can say “that’s nice” or “well done” but if you get hard currency then you know what you do is appreciated.
