Apple Bans Bouncing Barack and Trouserless Bill
By Davey Winder in Editorial
Refusing entry to the iPhone App Store is nothing new as far as Apple is concerned. We have already seen Opera given the no entry treatment and let’s not forget the virtual pint of beer fight or the infamous ‘I am Rich‘ application nonsense. However, banning a game called Obama Trampoline which unsurprisingly features US President Barack Obama bouncing on a trampoline seems, well, a little over the top. If the iPhone truly is a “console experience” as Apple insists then surely bouncing Barack Obama on a trampoline would be a perfect application? I can see nothing defamatory in using a bouncing Barack to burst balloons; nothing offensive about doing the same with Sarah Palin or Hillary Clinton for that matter, both of which feature in the game.
I know, perhaps it is the much publicised love affair the 44th US President has with his BlackBerry that was to blame. Or maybe it was the inclusion of Bill Clinton with no trousers that crossed the line into objectionable content territory.
Apple is keeping quiet about the precise reasons, for now.

Perhaps Apple are trying to single-handedly stem the tide of people undermining figures of authority. For certain, the notion of children downloading a game that enables them to make their President bounce up and down on a trampoline is probably not the best way to encourage respect for others, least of all figure they should be looking up to and respecting.
Admittedly, after Bush, they’d be hard-pressed to, but an overwhelming amount of people seem to believe that Obama really does represent hope for the US and the rest of us.

Oh yes, respect for the leader of the free world, protector of the disenfranchised. Who also doesn’t have a problem with supporting groups that kill unborn babies. It’s hard to find that respect.

Thanks, MeToo.
Of course, Barack doesn’t just support groups that kill babies yet in the womb - he supports “medical care” facilities that kill BORN babies who survive the gruesome abortion process. Any reprobate who will argue that position on the floor of the Illinois State Senate (audio is available) deserves no respect.

“probably not the best way to encourage respect for others, least of all figure they should be looking up to and respecting.”
This country was founded on the notion that the government is the servant, not the master, of the people. A President must thus respect his citizens by default, but to gain respect himself he must earn it from his free-thinking citizens. Teaching your kid to respect the President “because he is the President” is teaching your kid that he lives in a monarchy.
