This is being writen a good hour earlier than it ought to be. The reason being that we accidentally got up an hour earlier today. Actually, more than an hour earlier because we left our bed at what we thought was a little ‘early’ as it’s Spring. The days are getting longer, the weather sunnier and a blessed blackbird has taken to singing all night long and not just from his usual 4am. Read more

Naming names

Walking past Beales the other day and there, in the window, is a range of tomato red cookware named Provence. Even if you never visit that part of the world, the name conjures up images of red wine, blazing hot sun and olive groves, the cicada’s calls so loud they almost hurt your ears. Read more

Very Interesting… but stupid

British Telecom emailed us today with the message that our monthly on-line bill is ready for reading. Coincidentally, 18185.co.uk also emailed our call charges bill. All very good and supposedly saving paper, just like HSBC who have been struggling to get us to accept paperless bank statements, assuming we can get at our account to read the bad news. Read more
