Remember the Milk!

A while ago I found a service called Remember the Milk, I’m sure many others have heard of it – its basically an online service to manage tasks, with the ability to add deadlines and reminders. At the time I didn’t really have a need or use for it, however, I’d like to clean up my desk and get rid of the immense number of notes that I have lying around so I’m going to try and use it for this purpose.
The web interface is nice and clean and simple to use and add / manage tasks, enabling you to categorise them, search them, view by day, completed tasks, overdue tasks – a load of organisation basically.
Whilst I’m so far very impressed with the interface I was way more impressed by the amount of add-ins and gadgets for it – they go on and on!
For starters the simple ability to email tasks to a custom email address for them to be added to your list of tasks is nice, you simply follow a simple convention of tags to fill in fields ranging from a simple subject to tags, length, repeats, priorities and location.
Next is the gadgets available for Gmail and Google Calendar but also for the ‘Apps’ Versions of these for example I have them installed on my own domain which is a nice touch. These simply show you a list of recent tasks and enable you to add new ones and edit old ones.
There is a tie in with Twitter but so far I haven’t been able to get this to work but for those whom it works I’m sure it’s a nice touch.
There are also many others which don’t apply to me but are still a nice addition to the collection – MilkSync for Blackberry and Windows Mobile as well as apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
I’m not sure at the moment of how well the service will tie into how I manage my tasks but all of these add-ons can only help me to use the service to the most of its ability and get the most out of it so I look forward to updating you all on this soon… maybe.

Mmmm, I did download this once but not used. Maybe I should have another look at it?
