Nokia’s Internet Tablet

I’ve had one of these beauties for over a year now. I started with the 770 and used it so much that I upgraded to the N800 when it came out at the beginning of the year.
Nokia have since brought out an upgrade to that - the N810 - but I’m not going to get one.

I am the proud owner of a Nokia 770, this post instantly stood out to me as you may be able to establish. I really love my tablet, whilst I dont use it all the time, I do find it another great addition to my sony ericsson p900 - its a great ice breaker. Get it out in a crowded place or unfamiliar area and as soon as you’ve turned the cover I find people asking ‘What on earth is that?!’ I reply ‘A Nokia internet tablet of course’. - I then proceed to a drawing application and let them play from there on, its fantastic! After I’d bought my 770 I was looking at the n800 and felt maybe I should have got that instead, its faster and has a camera, But I feel that the 770 is a better portrayal of me, it looks rather ‘geekish’ and fits my persona, it also has a cover which protects it nicely. The n810 looks lovely, the slide out keyboard is a great addition as well as the integration of gps, would I like one? - HELL YEAH, Am I likely to get one for a few years? - erm … no. As much as I like the look of it and its new software I still have the problems with it that I have with the n800 - no cover and not geek looking enough, this may be due to a rumour I head a while back which hinted towards Nokia purposely designing the 770 for geeks and planning for another 4 tablets which would slowly move towards the rest of the population.
To conclude … 770 - I love you.

Thanks Mike, glad to find someone enjoying their tablet too! As for the 770 cover, I did like it but, as I have a large handbag, I was able to get a nice padded case for my N800 with space for the extra pen and business cards etc. Unfortunately I live in the back of beyond as far as wi-fi hitspots goes so I don’t get to play out with it much. I use it more for mail and surfing in the house when I don’t want to fire up my laptop - like now for instance. Sat watching The Simpsons and surfing…
