The things we do for our kids…

Son likes Call of Duty 4.

He’s been waiting for Call of Duty: World at War to come out for ages and was most miffed when one of his online friends said that he’d got his copy through the post 2 days early. I had to go to Asda the day before release and cheekily asked if it was out yet (knowing full well it wasn’t). “Midnight” was the reply.

I mentioned this to Son who said “Can’t I go?” “No” was the stern reply, it’s a school night - what kind of mum does he think I am?? Anyway, hubby said he’d call in on his way home from work so Son could get a half hour or so of morning play in before school.

I heard hubby come in late and went down to see if he’d managed to get it (and on the correct format - that’s another tale). He said there’d been a queue! He got there around 11.30pm or so and there was already a queue. Kids too. On a school night. (I do believe other games were also due out at the same time but most were wanting CoD). After he’d got his copy he’d gone to get a couple of bits in the store and on his way out had heard that they’d nearly run out of the Xbox supplies.

I knew it was a good game, not my type really so I haven’t indulged yet, but hadn’t realised how popular it was. I also thought I was a pretty reasonable mum as regards video games but obviously either some parents are pushovers, total gamers themselves or a little irresponsible as to how much sleep their kids get :-)

On a big plus side - Asda were selling it for
