It makes me giggle (sometimes)

I went to get a wireless network card to install in son’s PC (he’d blown the USB one with over-use). PC World didn’t have any in stock so I went to a local supplier. I generally do use local rather than big chain but there is usually a price difference. But that’s not the point of this ramble…

I went in and asked for what I wanted. He took one down from the shelf and gave me a look - “Don’t you want it installing?” he asked. “No thanks, I’ll do it myself.” I replied.

“Oh”

There was doubt in his voice, obvious doubt. I got home and installed it with no problems yet I dreaded having a problem because then his view would be vindicated.

Sorry, but what was your point?

Hi Dave - classic writing mistake here I’m afraid. I knew what I was saying but didn’t quite manage to convey the message with my words.

I find it funny when people view me with amazement, suspicion or downright disbelief when I say I can, for instance, install a wifi network card in a PC. I have a quiet giggle inside (sometimes). Other times I get a bit fed up that often people so easily stereotype others.

Hope this explains it better
:-)
