A girl in a strange town

I’m off to see a concert in Liverpool this July. The gig’s at the Liverpool Empire which is just next to Lime Street train station - ideal I thought. Train there and return home after the concert. Alas it was not to be.

For reasons unknown the last train on a Friday night back to my home town is at around 9.45pm. No good, I’d miss half the show.

So, I’ve booked into the local Travelodge as I only wanted something cheap & cheerful. Breakfast booked too, even if it is only a selection of cereal, fruit bars and tea/coffee delivered to your door. But I digress.

I decided to have a look at where I was going on Google Earth. I found the Empire and I found the Travelodge - about 5 or 10 minute walk between the two. Then I saw an email option at the top of the page. So I did - you got the option to send as jpg or link to Google Earth. I sent it to myself as a jpg and now have, on my Blackberry Storm, a nice and clear image of where I’m going so I can refer to it if I am unsure of the way. Excellent.

Now all I need is recommendations of places to eat/drink that are suitable for a girl on her own in a big city :-)
