My daughter sent me this link to Clientcopia and, as I started to browse randomly, I found myself nodding and giggling so I thought I would share.
Crumbs BBC!

I’ve just been reading the BBC news article about proposals to make users of the BBC iPlayer pay.
Personally I would be very annoyed about this. I rarely watch the BBC anyway so already paying for a service I do not use often and now they want to charge me more? About the only thing I watch is an hour of BBC Breakfast in a morning and I have found the iPlayer on my PS3 does make me get more value for money from the BBC licence fee. If the BBC charged to use the iPlayer I just wouldn’t watch it - I guess that’d solve a lot of their problems as they wouldn’t be forking out for streaming so much over the net…
What do you think? Would micropayments be taking the biscuit?
Spam with everything

Yesterday I took down my personal blog which was at histrel.me.uk/blog - why? Because since around 13th May the amount of spam comments I have had to moderate has been in the region of 10+ per day. I had a few before that but not on this scale. I got fed up of seeing them in my inbox and, as I wasn’t doing much with the blog anyway, I decided to back-up and then delete it. For now.
Not being into spamming I was curious - how does it work? Was my blog address submitted to somewhere? If I set up the blg again will the same thing happen?
As I always moderate none of the spam actually appeared on my site so what was the point? Is it just a thrill from knowing someone’s being annoyed by all the spam? Very childish if you ask me.
Any advice gratefully received ![]()

I just received yet another email hoax. May I ask what benefit there is to making people email 8 (or more) of their friends to receive personal happiness, wealth, good fortune or (in this case) a free laptop? Read more

I’m off to see a concert in Liverpool this July. The gig’s at the Liverpool Empire which is just next to Lime Street train station - ideal I thought. Train there and return home after the concert. Alas it was not to be. Read more

It seems that I inadvertently stirred up a hornet’s nest with my last entry about internet users spamming opponents and their allies. Read more
Childish games or serious problem?

I saw a link posted by Alex Hanff this morning on my Facebook page. He’s a very vocal opponent of DPI and has made many comments regarding his opinion of Phorm. Apparently, although I haven’t personally checked, Phorm supporters have been attacking his forum overnight with various posts, some of which he states linked out to pornographic sites, and they also have been sending private messages to forum members.
Whether you support Phorm or not would you feel this behaviour is acceptable? If your supporters (for whatever belief) did this type of activity to one of your detractors would you endorse it? Would you be appalled? Would you be appalled yet secretly be glad our critic is getting what they deserve?
My opinion on this situation is that ‘innocent bystanders’ are being hit by the fallout. I would certainly be upset if a link on a forum I believed was genuine led me to porn sites; I would be even more upset if my children accessed them. By all means, use the internet to voice your opinions but this type of behaviour is just plain childish with potentially serious consequences.
Would you believe this plotline?

OK, if this were a tv series I guess you think the writers had ‘jumped the shark’ at this point.
He asked questions of the lay judges that he seemed to think didn’t apply to him. If I was a Swedish taxpayer I may be annoyed at the potential waste of money if a retrial is allowed.

In the interest of enriching the English language I, and others, feel that there should be a campaign to bring the word ’spod’ back into general usage.
What other words do you feel are under utilised?
