My usual answer for spyware is to get yourself a good Anti-spyware checker. Although today someone asked me about this particular one (SpyShredder) and asked if I could remove it. I stuck AVG anti spyware on the system did and did a scan. AVG did find SpyShredder, and removed it. Although after a restart it came back :-(

So here is a quick guide to manually removing it.

1. Open Task Manager (Hold Ctrl+Alt and press Del)

2. Go to the processes tab, and end the following three processes (although they may not all be running).
SpyShredder.exe
avp.exe
mgrs.exe

3. Unregister the following files one by one. (By clicking start -> Run -> and typing regsvr32 /u ***)
where i have typed ***, replace with the following file names (do 1 at a time)
SpyShredder.exe
avp.exe
mgrs.exe

4. Go to My computer and browse to C:\Program Files. Look for a folder named SpyShredder. Delete this folder (when you delete the folder hold the Shift key on your keyboard to perminantly delete it)

5. Restart the PC.

Just seen this, Microsoft are reportedly adding a feature to media center to allow users to watch TV via the Internet…

Engadget state that during a ‘chat’ with Microsoft they got wind of a new feature being added to Media center that will allow us to watch Internet TV through our Media centers and Xboxs!

The feature will be supported by adverts which should mean the service will be free to!

Engadget say that we should expect to see the update (check Windows update) around 27th September, as long as there is plenty of content available this should be just what is needed to make the Xbox the perfect home entertainment system.

Did I mention its free? Well kind of, to buy the printed book its not free (£14.20 from Amazon at time of writing). Which i don’t think is a bad price. I did say it’s free though, so here’s how. The author of the book has made the book availble as a PDF for free! I think this is very good of him, and hope it doesn’t effect his profits too much!
He has also release the book under a creative commons license which means you can share remix and copy the book, as long as you give credit to him (But check the license at the front of the book before doing any of these!)The book is great, I so far have only read parts of it, but I am going to stop, order the book (paper) and read it properly. If you want to have a look for yourself go to www.55fun.com

I am looking forward to playing the google snake game, although I think I need to get a few ‘geeks’ together first as I think they’re the only one’s who will appreciate it :-) And I have to mention the section on Dave Gorman’s Goolewhack adventure as I think he is the funniest guy on the planet!

I really like the fact that he has made it available to people online for free. If he hadn’t I don’t think I would have bothered buying it.

Hope you like the book, it seems there is something for most people.
