I want unlimited data usage! … but I don’t want an IPhone!

O2 are offering an unlimited data plan for their customers…

As long as they have an IPhone.

… I don’t want or need an IPhone!

I have a O2 Trion. This is a smartphone made by O2, it has Internet and Email capabilities, but I have to pay £10 if I dare to transfer a whole 8mbs of data. Although if I buy an IPhone, I can have unlimited data.

… But as I have already said, I don’t want an IPhone!!!

My phone is produced by O2! Surely this would be the phone that they would be pushing???

Or there is another idea…

It’s not what we’re used to…

It may shock us…

But O2 could treat all their customers the same!

Personally I am really disappointed with O2. I have had O2 PDAs for three years now. I have paid the price for transferring data patiently waiting for the inevitable ‘unlimited’ data bundles. But today I called O2 and was told “Sorry but I’ve been told that only IPhone users can have unlimited data, but you can purchase one of our bolt on data packages”.

Come on O2! You can surely do better than that!!!

I called O2 a couple of months ago to enquire about a data plan since I have a Nokia N95. They offered me another 5MB per month on top of my 3MB for 9 or 10 pounds. I couldn’t help myself, I laughed down the phone at the poor woman and pointed out that I was looking for 500MB, not 5MB. Vodafone can do it, T-Mobile can do it. If O2 can do it for the iPhone, then they can do it for the rest of their customers. I shall probably be leaving O2 at the end of my contract (a week or two’s time), just for this reason. It’s a pity because I have nothing but praise for O2 otherwise.

Totally agree with you, I don’t use half my N95’s capabilities because I don’t want to pay extra for a bolt on data plan. I think it’s unfair that the sheep are getting unlimited data while long term customers (8yrs plus for me) are stuck with little or nothing.
