Finally after a very very long wait, Microsoft Office Accounting uk edition is here.

I am starting my own business, the idea of tax, accounting, and all the other rules and regulations I don’t understand is a daunting one. I have found myself planning a database for keeping all my records of jobs, sales and income ect… The problem with this, is whenever I have to build a database for myself I use it as a ‘learning experience’ and send hours after hours playing with new ‘tricks’ rather than building the database.

So to cut a (very) long story short (I appreciate you have other things to be doing with your 10minute so called lunch break) I am
very pleased to see that Microsoft has now released the uk Office Accounting package. It comes in 2 versions, profession and express. You can buy the professional version for £149.95 (I thought a reasonable price) if you need it, this includes a few features that express doesn’t like, payroll, and e-commerce.

I must admit I have so far only installed the software and had an initial ’browse round’ so cannot be 100% sure yet, but at 1st
glance it seems the free express version does everything I need for now.

Over the next few weeks I will look into the software in a bit more detail, and let you know my what I think, but for now I
just wanted to let everyone know it’s here.
