I’ve been waiting (patiently) for 6.1 for a while now, and today I looked on www.my-xda.com (see as they didn’t Email as requested), and there it was the download for my XDA Stella.
I’ve got to say, I’m not impressed! I’m not blaming Microsoft (yet), I think the problem is O2. Microsoft have been shouting about the new panels on the today screen, iprovements to Internet Explorer, the new threaded text messages, and more…

I’ve checked the ‘About’ page, I do have 6.1, just without the improvements. So I phoned O2, and after 5 minutes on hold, I got through to an advisor. I told him the problem, he then put me on hold (of course!), when he came back, he told me he spoke the technical team and they say the features should be there. Very helpfull I thought! His advice was to take it to an O2 shop where they can re-install the ROM update, as he thinks it’s a phone fault rather than software. I personally think it’s a software fault rather than hardware. I also explained to him that my friend Paul has the same phone, has installed the same update, and has the same problem.

The advisor said this was strange, and after some thought said, that I should take the phone to an O2 shop so that they can re-install the update. He also added I should try downloading the update from microsoft, I told them I didn’t think Microsoft have the download available to end users. He said “yeah they do, and they work with our phones”. I checked, They don’t!
