IT PRO unaffected by earthquake

The IT PRO website (http://www.itpro.co.uk) remained fully accessible and operational throughout and after this morning’s 1am earthquake in the North East Lincolnshire region of England.

The website, one of the leading enterprise news and reviews publications serving the UK, demonstrated its resilience to earthquakes, and hailed its many anti-earthquake safeguards for ensuring that service remained unaffected for its many loyal readers.

“Earthquakes were always at the forefront of our contingency planning when we launched IT PRO,” said Chris Green, Editor of the publication. “From the outset we took many precautions to ensure that readers would always be able to access their daily dose of IT news and information, including positioning our site hosting as far away as possible from fault lines, making use of earthquake-proof HTML code and training our staff in earthquake survival techniques”.

“We think our investment in earthquake precautions and training has been justified today, and our many readers at 1am have been commenting on how the site remained unaffected by the wrath of nature.”

IT PRO plans to continue its investment in earthquake-proofing the website, adding additional defences against Godzilla and electro-magnetic pulse weapon attacks. The site’s publisher also plans to install a backup power supply and a firewall.

(This post has been inspired by the many phone calls and emails I have received this morning pitching tenuous and appalling IT-related earthquake news stories).
