Products galore expected from Apple

Apple, the PT Barnum of the IT industry has managed to get tongues wagging again with the announcement of a forthcoming special event, where new products will be announced.
As usual, there is no pre-event confirmation of what will be announced, but the timing of the event coupled with external factors such as the age of certain product lines and stock shortages give us a pretty good idea of what users can expect.

New iPods: The most likely new product announcement will be a new model or variant of the iPod line. The timing is perfect for a pre-Christmas assault on the high-street, and the current line is looking a little tired, especially the iPod Classic.
