Useless USB Gadgets

It is that time of year again when you can almost guarantee the receiving of some useless USB gadget, now some useless gadget things I like – specially the ones at Christmas but I have to admit that I hate USB gadgets like this – they use up valuable USB ports, which I know could be resolved with USB hubs but this should not be the case. A whole host of useless junk is available:

  • USB Shavers
  • Hoovers
  • Massagers
  • Sharpeners
  • Disco Balls
  • Aquariums
  • Xmas Lights
  • Gloves/Hand warmers
  • Coffee/Tea cup warmers (which I am excluding from the useless bit as I like these)
  • and Missile launcher (although that does look fun),

Can gadget creators not think of anything better to do with USB ports than crap like this?, More importantly - who actually uses this stuff?

How about a bit more wireless USB being brought in – hell a Kettle that can be controlled wirelessly is what I’d like to see! Or possibly, a toaster …. Hmmm, wait – that would just be ridiculous.

How many different silly USB gadgets can there be?, any that I’ve missed off?

I know what you mean, I’ve seen a USB Xmas tree , a USB mini fridge (single can), USB Heated Santa Boots and a USB Desk Vacuum. You can see a whole bunch of USB gadgets here:

Mind you, this morning I received a USB missile launcher from McAfee and it certainly does look fun (but for how long I’m not quite sure!).
