What’s been going on then?…

First of, another apology – This time I think I’ll blame exams again, gladly my last one was on Friday so they’re all over and I also started a new job today so that should get back some sort of schedule which will be good, so I’m sorry, I apologise!
Now, onto the tech!
The biggest thing I’ve seen recently has been the new iPhone that of course is a bigger deal in the US than it is here but I’m thinking the new one will be a big success here – the reason? – That would of course be the price. The new pricing scheme on the o2 website is:
8GB = free on the £45 and £75 tariffs, £99 on the £35 and £30 tariffs.
16GB = free on the £75 tariff. £59 on the £45 tariff and £159 on the £30 and £35 tariffs.
On top of this I believe its going to be on pay as you go which will probably make sales jump through the roof (ebayers me thinks).
And finally – What I’m looking at
I really want a new gadget however I cannot afford one and I need to save money to learn to drive, so instead, I shall write about it. I’m liking the look of the OQO Model 01 - its like a Nokia Internet tablet but runs a full version of xp and has a digitiser on the screen and a qwerty keypad under the screen which slides out, in all it just looks awesome and because it’s a few years old its only around £300 which is doable for me, if I hold off on all other spending – which I wont I have to wait to get a new gadget.
Has anyone got something like this? - I see it to be a bit like a EEE Pc because its small but its a bit more expensive and better - touch screen already there (rather than having to add it) and nice big storage and stuff.
Why I love my phone?

Many people are of the impression that Mobile phones are for phoning people and phoning people alone they believe ‘why would you want to do anything else? – it’s a phone’, then there are those who used to believe they were only for phoning people but now think that texting is also acceptable. I would then hope that the third category is where most people reading this would fit in – Mobiles are great – they are like little computers that can do anything! (which is precisely the group I am in).
The reason I’ve brought this up is because I’ve recently been using a little application for my e65 called ‘emTube’, its brilliant! – its basically just Youtube for mobiles (which I know there is an application for from the official people but this one is better).
The reason I like emTube is because I am able to search for videos on my mobile whilst at home on my wifi network and then use emTube to download them to my phone, this means I can show people when out and about, so I no longer have to remember to send a link of a video to a friend on msn when they come online, I can just show them on my phone next time I see them, excellent stuff!
The Asus Eee Pc, My love for it has gone

This is the Asus Eee Pc, I’m sure many of you will have seen it before, its been discussed a lot recently, in real terms it a proper laptop for around £200, which I think is a bargain, however after a trip to a local well known Pc shop I decided that I no longer like it.

Previously, I had thought that its amazingly small and is a very cheap alternative to a full size laptop - perfect for those who dont use them that often or don’t need any power - whatsoever, however I now feel that they arent as good. Whilst they can have xp installed on them which I think is a strong plus point, I cant imagine how fast it would run - is it practical?
Next to the Eee was another laptop - it was just under £300 and had a much better spec than the Eee, and if memory serves correctly, it wasnt too much bigger, this left me to the conclusion that I dont like the Eee anymore. The screen isnt really practical, the os isnt really ideal, the specs arent up to much and I wouldnt use it … at all, so thats a bubble of mine burst completly.
Has anyone else seen the Eee?
My new camera (to be read - ‘I have a new toy yay for me!’)

Whilst this may not be interesting to everyone I feel its rather interesting, there are absolutely loads of choices available to people for different gadgets, the main example I am going to use is for cameras, with my birthday money from last Sunday I purchased a digital camera, I researched this for quite a while to weigh up my options and I found plenty!, its made complicated by the shear number of brands available, the quality of the sensors – the number of mega pixels they have, their ISO and shutter speed options etc. What I’m trying to get to is that I looked at quite a few cameras and found it hard to decide, I will admit that I was not only judging them by their specs and how good they were but also by their appearance which for me is something I shouldn’t do as its not the right way to judge something technical in my opinion but I did and I ended up getting the Kodak v1003 in Black. It has a 10mp sensor, a 3x optical zoom, ISO speeds ranging from ISO 80 to ISO 1600, Long time exposure mode up to 8 seconds, Anti blur mode, and Kodak’s easy share stuff. I was mainly weighed over by the good number of mega pixels for the price, the looks and also the number of scene modes, which I wanted so I could experiment.
The camera looks like this and I’m very happy with it so far, I will at some point take some pictures worthy of showing off perhaps:

But I have it in black and it looks much better - well I think so anywho.
