New Year project…

I’ve finished college for the semester and have a week off before starting again. I have an old PC (no monitor) that had XP on it but now has Linux (Gutsy Gibbon) as I wanted to try it out.
My challenge for you is to give me ideas what I can do with it. It’s got maybe 60 - 80GB storage, 512mb memory and OK graphics (for example, my son ran Paraworld on it with few problems). I’m not adverse to adding memory if justified. There’s a CDROM, DVDROMand even a floppy drive! I do have an original XP disk if needed.
I was looking at hooking it up to my HDTV so I could surf, watch stuff etc without getting the laptop out - also maybe play some PC Games. However, I am totally open to any other suggestions.
I’m fairly OK with messing around with the hardware (if I muck it up I can yell for my brother lol). Not afraid to try anyway.
So, what can you come up with?
