Pleasant printer surprise

When I replaced my waterlogged laptop a few months ago I got a deal that included a Lexmark wireless printer/scanner
Now I haven’t ben a Lexmark fan for a few years. We had an all-in-one unit that was temperamental to say the least! In the end I bought an Epson and have stuck with them ever since. So, as you can imagine, I wasn’t really excited about getting this freebie up and running.
I finally was persuaded to set it up so that the children and my husband could print from their computers without having to e-mail me or put stuff on a pen drive.
I set up hubby’s laptop to do the initial installation and hunted out a USB printer cable from another printer. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and found that Lexmark actually included one - and with a printer that (technically) will not need one apart to set it up! Bonus #1
Bonus #2 was finding that set up was really easy. No difficulties, no retries - just follow the instructions and off we go…
I then went to install on son’s pc, and that went so easy too (Bonus #3)
So now everyone can print off without my intervention and, so far, my fears have been unfounded (Bonus #4). Have Carlsberg bought out Lexmark and not told anyone??

Hmmm, Nice, I like to hear when something is easy to set up - perhaps even easy enough for my mum to set up (or maybe not). However I have had a dislike for Lexmark for a while - their cheap prices seam to lure people into buying their printers but then they find that the ink cartridges are very expensive (or I’ve always thought they were). I can see that for you though it has been very useful and reduced the amount of interruption that you get (which is always a good thing)

Having had a Lexmark printer - its the cartridges that are so expensive. I was quite impressed by my first Lexmark printer, so when the next colour inkjet one came out with 2 times the print resolution, I bought it. To my horro, the cartridges were half the size of the old ones - and cost more!
I now have a Xerox colour laser printer, that cost me £100 or the equivalent of 4 Lexmark printer cartridges!
