I picked up the phone a few minutes ago and an Indian-sounding gentleman asked to speak to Mrs Jackson. I acknowledged who I was and he asked if I remembered speaking to him last week - no I didn’t. Anyway, he proceeded to tell me that my computer was sending his company emails generated by a virus that was in a hidden file on my hard drive. I became a little suspicious at this point.

I recently acquired an older pc which I am playing with. I noticed it needed some more memory and, being an impatient lass, didn’t want to wait for delivery. PC World were offering it for a fairly reasonable price and around £7 cheaper if I ordered online to collect in store. So I did. Read more

Spam with everything

Years ago I joined O2 and they gave me an e-mail address. As far as I know I have never given it out to anyone although I think O2 list it in their directory. Just out of curiosity I downloaded my O2 emails to my Yahoo mail account - from Dec 02 I have received 376 emails to that address. All spam.

The recent SATS fiasco has kind of affected me, my daughter has got her results but they are unconfirmed at the moment because the school has not had the actual scripts back to check them. I do know that 11 children in her school didn’t get some of their results back with the rest - but I guess that’s better than some schools I’ve been reading about. Read more
