EE has opened up its broadband products to anyone in the UK regardless of whether they have a mobile contract with the operator.

It has also promised to help customers buy themselves out of their current contracts.

From today, the telecoms provider will make its lowest priced broadband offerings to anyone within its broadband network area.

Among the deals offered by the provider 2.50 per month for broadband (up to 17Mbps speeds) and weekend calls for the first 12 months.

It is also offering fibre packages with speeds up to 38Mbps plus weekend calls for 5 per month for the first three months and free connection worth 50. Its up-to-76Mbps fibre package will cost 20 per month for the first three months, which also comes with unlimited landline calls, 1,000 mobile minutes and international calls to 30 destinations as well as free connection.

Another sweetener to the deal is half price phone line installation for 30 instead of 60.

The provider also offered to pay terminations charges up to 100 if a customer was still in contract with another provider.

The opening up of the EE broadband network to non-EE mobile customers also means they will be able to two-for-one deals at the cinema and at Pizza Express. Users will also get a free copy of Norton 360 security software in the first year (worth 59.99) and half price for the second year.
