Vodafone boosts data allowances on 4G plans

4G road sign

Vodafone has upgraded all Red Value Bundle customers to 4G plans and upped data limits to 25GB.

Customers signed up to 24-month Red Value Bundles will now benefit from a choice of entertainment options, including a Now TV Entertainment Pass, Spotify Premium or Sky Sports mobile subscriptions. Each of these extras eat into data allowances, so it makes sense for Vodafone to boost limits, although with previous bundles offering up to 20GB, the extra 5GB for power users won't make too much of a difference.

An enhanced version of Vodafone EuroTraveller, which allows customers to use their inclusive UK minutes, texts and data from a number of European countries for 3 a day, is another perk offered on Vodafone's reshuffled plans. It's not as attractive as Three's Feel at Home service, but it's better than being stung for using your phone abroad nonetheless.

Cindy Rose, consumer director at Vodafone UK, said: "Our customers told us that they wanted more data and access to our 4G network, regardless of what agreement they are on. Whether they're passionate about this season's mustsee boxsets on NOW TV, the latest tunes on Spotify Premium, or keeping up to date with all the action on Sky Sports Mobile TV, they can do thanks to our 4G network and bigger data allowances."

Vodafone's Red Value Bundles are available with data limits starting at 4GB. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is available to preorder on this plan from 44/month if you trade in an old Samsung Galaxy phone at the same time. The HTC One M9 will cost 65/month for the top bundle with 25GB data.

Rose continued: "With our new bundle structure and Fixed Price Promise, Vodafone customers have the flexibility and security to enjoy more of what they love safe in the knowledge their line rental cost will remain the same for the contract term, making Vodafone the network they can depend on."
