NetSuite sets sights on software firms

The hosted business software vendor extends its latest OneWorld package for software licensing and subscription billing.

NetSuite has unveiled the first fruits of its efforts to add vertical functionality the OneWorld software package it unveiled last month, targeting independent software vendors (ISVs) in the first instance.

OneWorld, the software-as-a-service (SaaS) business suite, is designed for midsized companies looking to get a real-time view of operations and finances across a number of offices or global subsidiaries.

Zach Nelson, NetSuite chief executive, said: "Now with NetSuite OneWorld Software Company Edition, we are offering global mid-sized software businesses the ability to integrate global consolidated financials in an integrated software suite that has been specifically tailored to meet the needs of software companies. We know how a global software company works because we are one, and we have been successfully using our own software to operate our business for the past 10 years."

New functionality includes licence renewals automation, complex and multi-tier channel management and billing capabilities specifically targeted at managing a diverse, global set of end user and partner requirements.

Clinical Solutions, a provider of healthcare software and services for clinical decision support, informatics, triage nursing and assessment, is using the Edition to integrate its worldwide, end-to-end business operations.

NetSuite OneWorld enables Clinical Solutions' eight subsidiaries spread across three continents and five locations to have one suite of financial accounting software, including financials and revenue recognition and customer relationship management (CRM) software.

Dave Stanton, Clinical Solutions finance project manager, said: "Now, many of our employees have been able to move from a data input environment to a much higher level of analysis, which means information can be used much more effectively and our company can save even more time and money."

The vendor also said Teleca, a London and Stockholm-based developer of software solutions for the international mobile telecommunications industry, is using the NetSuite CRM+ solution for human resources (HR) management. This enables Teleca to make more effective hires and plan professional development curricula for its 1,600 engineers across its worldwide sites.

"Knowing the capacity and capabilities of our people is most important, so it was extremely important to have a global view of our resources," said Lisbeth Hald, senior vice president of global HR at Teleca. "That's where NetSuite came into the picture and it has been a perfect fit for us."

The NetSuite OneWorld Software Company Edition starts at £3,045 per month.
