Dell has launched a new range of PowerEdge 13th generation servers that are aimed at making SMBs "future ready".
The new servers include PowerEdge R330 and R230 rack servers and PowerEdge T330 and T130 tower servers, the last of which, for the first time, include Dell's OpenManage system management portfolio.
Research carried out in the UK and US on behalf of Dell showed that the top issues facing SMBs are performance, hardware capacity and IT complexity.
Dell hopes to address these issues with its new products, which the company claims provide increased performance, flexibility and efficiency to help SMBs prepare for future growth.
At the top of the range is the R330, which is aimed at SMBs, remote offices and OEMs and has up to 56 per cent more internal storage capacity.
The R230 is aimed at SMBs, OEMs and hosting partners using distributed applications, and it has 100 per cent more memory capacity, three times the maximum internal storage and twice the I/O expension of the previous generation.
The T330 is focused on growing SMBs and offers up to four DDR4 memory slots and up to eight 3.5in hard drives.
Finally, the T130 squarely targets small and home offices and is, Dell claims, particularly useful for driving collaboration and productivity applications. It has twice the memory of its predecessor.
Inside the servers, hardware includes DDR4 SDRAM, which is 33 per cent faster than DDR3, PCIe Gen 3.0 slots to boost I/O performance, Dell's own PERC9 RAID controller, and a choice of processors from the Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5 product family.

"Dell has been helping customers in this space achieve their goals for decades and our new entry-level PowerEdge servers have the performance, expandability and flexibility to help them do business even more efficiently."
All four of the servers are available immedtiately.
