Asus reveals multi-touch Eee PC 900
Asus sets out to combat its budget laptop rivals as it reveals details of the Eee PC 900, the follow up to the first generation unit which did extremely well last Christmas and set the standards which other have now been following.

Asus, Intel and a whole number of companies are starting to release low-cost laptop machines which have the ability to tap into the potential of the emerging markets, as well as creating demand in Europe and the US. IT PRO looks at how this has come about.
Intel profits decrease despite record revenue
Companies such as Google, IBM and Fujitsu Siemens had figures coming out which all looked positive. Intel's Q1 figures looked good, especially when you consider the problems big rival AMD are having.

Customers can now use Wi-Fi along with their coffee in branches of the Coffee Republic. The competition of Mobile Broadband and money from advertising are possible reasons that this service is being rolled out now.
New BT head suggests fibre for some
The new boss of BT, Ian Livingston, hints the company might cover the costs for fibre to homes, but not to the entire country. Although it has previously dismissed these plans, possible rule changes from Ofcom has made it more likely for BT.
