IT Pro Rating Price: From free, depending on contract. Company: O2 Review Date: 10th Apr 2008 Verdict: The O2 Atmos is a great little package and though it does lack features it's the usability that really stands out. The lack of GPS means some will want to go for the larger Tytn II, but if you want a serious business device for use during the day and something you wouldn't mind taking down the pub in the evening this will hit the spot.

Verdict: Nokia's linux based N810 internet tablet has a good range of connectivity options, a high-res screen and integrated GPS, but with no SIM card support and a paucity of relevant third part applications its appeal to the enterprise market is limited.

Verdict: Although some of the enhancements over its predecessor are minor, they make a big difference to the user experience and deliver a device that's better behaved and more primed for business than its predecessor.

Verdict: RIM adds extra radios in the form of either GPS or Wi-Fi (but not both) to the businesslike Curve and manages to make them more useful without losing the trademark excellent battery life. Without UMA arrangements from the mobile operators though, Wi-Fi in the 8320 only gives you faster Web browsing so the 8310 is our pick of the two.

Verdict: Cisco delivers a smart wireless management and monitoring system which is easily deployed and can be upgraded with demand. We found the mapping facilities very effective and the accurate location tracking of rogue APs and RFID tags makes it highly versatile.

Verdict: Ahead of getting our hands on a genuine UK iPhone running on O2, we went stateside to have a brief look at a US model running on AT&T. On first impressions, Apple has struck gold, pulling together a compelling mix of easy-to-use applications and functionality, coupled with a touch screen interface and display that cannot be matched by anything currently on the market.

Verdict: Too big to be a smartphone, too Windows Mobile-based to be an ultraportable, but the wealth of features and connections make the Advantage a powerful portable device for getting some real work done on the road - though at a price.

Verdict: This revamped version of the E61 smartphone addresses many of the inherent problems of the original. Little things like slightly larger keys have a massive positive impact on usability, while the software functionality will give devices like the Apple iPod a run for their money. However, it is still painfully underpowered, which in turn adds to the frustration of using it.

Verdict: With the 8820, RIM has kept much of what is good about the BlackBerry -- the full QWERTY keyboard, large screen, and a shape that allows one-handed typing - and added a much-requested feature, in the form of WiFi. Styling is sharper than the Curve, but if you want multi-media features such as a camera, look elsewhere.

Verdict: A pricey but stylish and practical ultraportable that turns into a practical tablet PC as well, the Toshiba Portégé R400 has plenty of unusual and useful utilities but also a few rough edges.
