BMC revenues up nine per cent in Q3

Enterprise management software company has "outstanding third quarter".

Enterprise management software company BMC Software reported total revenues for its third quarter of $413m (210m), up nine per cent year on year. The company also announced net earnings for the same period of $64m (32m).

It reported that its operating cash flow was up 72 per cent year on year to $115m (58m). It also said its operating margin was 18 per cent compared to 14 per cent a year ago.

Bob Beauchamp, the company's president and chief executive said that BMC Software had delivered an "outstanding fiscal 2007 third quarter."

"Our business service management strategy is driving robust growth in license bookings and revenues across a broad front," he said. "As we move into the last quarter of our 2007 fiscal year, we remain focused on creating value by executing our strategy to capture the momentum around BSM, optimise the performance of our business units, and further streamline our processes and operations."

The company ended the period with $1.58bn (801m) in deferred revenues and $1.4bn ($710m) in cash and marketable securities, an increase of $40m (20m).
